Can I Clean And Perforate
In One Run?

The ability to perform more than one operation during a run into a well can save time and money. Producing wells often need cleaning and/or descaling operations performed to maintain production levels and often perforation or reperforation can be a part of that program. High pressure fluid cleaning can help remove deposits and scale that build up in the production tubing and casing allowing for more efficient production. Perforating may be required to reach past near wellbore damage caused by the scale in order to reestablish effective communication to the reservoir. TD Tools' Flow Isolation Tube (F.I.T.) tool can run in conjunction with a cleaning tool and then perform perforations- all in one run in the well.

Flow Isolation Tube (F.I.T.) Assembly

The TD Tools FIT Assembly allows for fluid to pass through the sand jet perforating tool and use the high pressure wash tool below to clean and descale the well which is unmatched in the industry. The unique FIT setup allows for fluid to flow from the wash jets and the sand jet perforating jets which also provide cleaning and descaling action for the BHA. By using the sand jet perforating jets in the cleaning operation, more surface area is cleaned and a greater volume of fluid can be pumped which increases annular velocity for debris and scale circulation and removal.

After the descaling operation, the sand jet perforator (PowerJet) can be isolated and multiple sets of perforations can be created. The added benefits of large diameter perforation tunnels are realized while still only having one run in the well which minimizes rig time to complete, recomplete, or workover the well. The single run eliminates unnecessary interventions trips which reduce exposure time of personnel to safety risks.

F.I.T. Function Test

After perforating, the flow tube can be shifted in order to restore flow to the wash tool. Final sweeps and bottoms up circulation can then be performed to remove any residual sand or scale from the well. By accomplishing both the cleaning operation and perforating in one run, the time to get the well back online is minimized.

Contact us today to discuss the value that the FIT Tool can bring to your operations by:

  • Performing both clean-up and perforating operations in one trip.

  • Minimizing rig time (and costs) to complete, recomplete, or workover the

    well.

  • Minimizing time to get the well online.

  • Eliminating unnecessary interventions which reduces exposure time of

    personnel to safety risks.
