Where Do I Find A Sand Jet Perforating Champion?

With new customers, we often receive the question, "Where do I find a champion for your technology?" In the 17 years that we have been designing and building sand jet perforating and cutting tools, the amount of experience with abrasive jetting in the oil and gas industry has grown considerably. More and more people have witnessed the benefits of sand jetting or have seen tools run on well locations. We are asked less frequently if the tools will work and more often about the best ways to incorporate abrasive perforating into a well program or compare it as an alternative to traditional explosive perforating.

For many companies that are starting their journey into sand jetting, the preferred route to building an in house "go to" person for the technology is to invest in a team member already within the company.​​

Presenting To Petroleum Engineering Students At Mississippi State University

Prior education or exposure to sand jet perforating and cutting would provide a candidate with a head start toward competency as a product champion. TD Tools team members provide presentations to college engineering student groups, present papers at technical conferences, and provide lunch and learn opportunities to customers and prospective customers. These presentations are designed to provide a foundation of understanding about this technology, give examples of applications, and stimulate conversations about new uses for abrasive jetting.

TD Tools also provides customer training to educate and familiarize team members on tool operation, maintenance, and program creation. The training includes classroom and hands on experience with all aspects of the tools including running the tools in the TD test yard. The class concludes with certification for the trainee.
